How Twitter’s Marketing Leaders Innovate – Bonus MP3

As a gift, I’m sharing a preview into what Daina Middleton will be sharing at the CMOs Leading Innovation Conference (CLIC ’15), September 23, in Tysons Corner VA (a DC suburb). She’s the Head of Global Marketing at Twitter.Daina Middleton, Head of Global Marketing at Twitter

Daina’s session is entitled “The Nurturist Organization: 5 Values for Innovative Companies Who Want to Thrive In the Participation Age.”

Marketing touches so many departments across companies today that adopting singular values that only operate under the CMO are not enough. Agile, innovative companies are thinking beyond departmental barriers to win by first understanding the values of nurturing relationships with their customers.

Daina Middleton will explain the 5 values of Nurturists from her latest book: Marketing in the Participation Age. She will use examples of how brands are leveraging these values to their advantage, such as Twitter and T-Mobile.

In this program, you will hear:

  • The foundational Nurturist values required today
  • Why the Participation Age trumps the Mad Men Age
  • What metaphors can quickly sabotage marketing programs
  • How failure helps marketers build a new path to building organizational value

Daina is a marketing leadership dynamo. Daina held a number of roles at Hewlett-Packard during her 16-year tenure where she pioneered digital and led global advertising for the $50 billion Imaging and Printing Group.  She went on to be the Global CEO of Performics, the largest performance marketing company in the world. Today she is Head of Global Business Marketing at Twitter.

Daina has been named a Mobile Marketing Woman to Watch; received a Gold Stevie® Award and sits on the boards of Marin Software, Healthwise, and the Community Foundation of Teton Valley.

CLIC ’15 participants will receive a copy of her first book, Marketing in the Participation Age: A Guide to Motivating People to Join, Share, Take Part, Connect, and Engage. She will release another book, Grace with Grit, in Fall of 2016 about gender differences for essential leadership behaviors.
